The Top Underrated football players

Players all around the world desire for recognition and try to carve an unforgettable image in the minds of their fans. But, most of the times only a few players are able to grab the limelight even when there are several others far better at their game.

Even if you are into Betway, and bet on your favourite players and matches. How much do you know about the football world? Sure, you could watch your favourite stars in action in the English Premier League, but how many football players do you know about?

The Best Underrated Football Players Today

The football world isn’t just about Ronaldo and Messi. There are a good number of other players who don’t make the news as often, but have skilful artwork. This listicle aims at cherishing the underrated ones that you shouldn’t forget about.

  1. Joginho

If there is any player who can be compared to the Barcelonian pass-master Xavi Hernande, who had a record of around 100 passes per game on an average; it has to be Johingo.

After Johingo made 180 absolutely accurate passes in the last season while playing against Cagliari, he has attained the boastful record of making the ultimate number of successful passes in a particular game.

  1. Thiago Alcantara

The player has largely been forgotten, even after performing exceptionally well while playing for the Bayern Munich and after having joined the Bavarians, the recognition further downscaled. During the last season, he was put up as being the best midfielder in the world side by side with Luka Modric. Sadly, his injury has kept him away for most of this season.

  1. Dries Mertens

Generally, a position like that of strikers owns the limelight quite easily. But as they say, exceptions are always there.

Even after being a lethal striker on the ground by scoring 17 goals in the 27 games of this season and making nine assists during those matches.

  1. Toby Alderweireld

Even though this Belgian player can easily pass for being the best defender in the world, but because he is rarely talked about in any such discussion, he stays here in the underrated list. For the last two seasons, Tottenham has been conceding the minimum number of goals during the Premier League. Even such performance was not able to shine a light on him.

  1. Son Heung-Min

He can be called the most underrated forward player in the Premier League. The control he has on the ball is mesmerising although he falls a little short on the finishing. He’s no less than Harry Kane, his teammate or even Mohamad Salah.

He gave a tough battle to the defenders during the Spurs matches, cutting them through his nimble footwork. This season, he has been able to make four assists and 12 goals so far. Hopefully, with increasing time, he’ll pick up even better skills and cross the line of being not talked about.
